Halloween Happenings in St. Augustine, FL

It's really no surprise that St. Augustine is known for its supernatural sightings and abundance of ghost stories. It's very likely no matter where you walk in the historic district that there is a grave under your feet! With Halloween approaching, what could be more appropriate than a ghost tour in the Nation's Oldest City?

One of Florida's most famous haunted sites is our iconic black and white-striped lighthouse. It has been investigated by ghost hunters and even featured several times on the SyFy Channel show, "Ghost Buster." They describe the Lighthouse as the Mona Lisa of paranormal sites.

Among the people who some believe haunt the grounds today are the Pittee sisters who were tragically killed while riding a construction cart down to the water. It flipped, trapping two of the daughters and a friend underneath. Strange occurrences have been attributed to the spirits of the girls since the accident.

The St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum offers ghost tours in addition to regular tours of the lighthouse and surrounding buildings.
