Nights of Lights 2020
Best Viewing Locations and Parking Tips for Nights of Lights
Great Locations to View the Lights
St. Augustine’s Award-Winning Nights of Lights begins November 14 (a week earlier this year) and continues until January 31. Due to the continuing COVID-19 situation, there will be no lighting ceremony in the Plaza this year, but there are still many ways to enjoy this truly magical display of millions of white lights throughout the historic district.
Make sure to visit the Plaza where the colorful Christmas tree is placed to get the perfect Christmas selfie. Music performances will be taking place on the weekends and throughout the holiday.
Another great place for a gorgeous view of the lights is the iconic Bridge of Lions where you have the added bonus of the lights reflecting in the water of the bay.
Parking Tips
The Historic Downtown Parking Facility, near the Visitors Information Center, costs $15 per vehicle per entry or $3 per vehicle per with a ParkNow card and accommodates 1,200 vehicles. If you have a Handicapped Placard parking is free (the owner of the placard must be in the car and present a valid Driver’s License).
Florida State Statutes state that persons with a valid handicap license plate or placard may park for free on all public roadways. This includes city-owned parking lots and meters, the Historic Downtown Parking Facility, and the Castillo de San Marcos parking lot.
Pay attention to parking spaces monitored by parking meters and NEVER park by a curb marked in yellow.
Time limit: on-street: 3 hours / parking lots: 4 hours
Monday through Saturday, city-marked meters and pay stations are free before 8:00 am and after 5:00 pm – parking is free before 10:00 am and after 5:00 pm around the Plaza de la Constitucion (Cathedral Pl. and King St). You can park for free at any metered space on Sundays and holidays too.
So, plan your vacation now to enjoy the most wonderful time of the year in beautiful, historic St. Augustine at Seaside of Anastasia!
